Follow these steps laid out by Dick Wallace at the 6/28/2023 meeting and go from zero to hero on the technician productivity charts!
1.) Be Prepared - have the right tools for the job and present yourself in a professional manner, have your truck/van clean and organized.
2.) Greeting- This is verbal greeting and appearance/first impression. make sure to give your name, address them by their name, and say why you are there.
3.) Probing Questions- the more questions: the higher concern expressed. Make sure empathy not sympathy given. Set the tone you care.
4.) Explain the Solution (#1 THING PEOPLE MISS)-
A. Be Detailed
B. We are the specialists! Take credit for that!
C. Explain what your doing and why
D. "Make it sound like your building a rocket ship, even if its just a kitchen sink" Builds Value and makes the price easier to swallow.
5.) Give the Price/ Close the Sale-
A. Give the price, let them process. Let them speak and let the price sit there.
B. Don't be defensive when it come to the price.
C. "Your biggest investment is your home and your family"
D. Try and close the sale 3 times if you are receiving push back or no's.
6.) Do the Work- Keep them informed throughout or if something is going to take longer than expected etc.
7.) Inspection (this is where multi-rev's come from. Less travel, less customers, more revenue!) - Check your work and cover your butt to ensure less callbacks. You can offer a courtesy inspection of other plumbing. You may just find another issue you can solve and add to the ticket.
"Anything else you want me to look at before I go such as a slow flushing toilet, drain giving you issues, or ugly faucet you want replaced?"
8.) Explain Inspection- Tell them the things you looked over. Start with the good things first then let them know your concerns/ suggestions.
9.) Write Invoice- Make sure it is legible and detailed! This helps your co-workers, as well as the customer, know what was done and suggestions you may have!
TAKE YOUR TIME, SHOW CONCERN, POINT OUT OTHER IMPROVEMENTS AND/OR WATER LEADS!
